How to change your Epic Games display name
Your Epic Games name is your identity in Fortnite—it’s what everyone sees when you log on—and changing it is straightforward.
How to change your Fortnite name on a computer
When gaming from a Nintendo Switch®, Windows™, or Mac® computer, you’ll need to change your display name online. Note: you won’t be able to change your display name again for two weeks after changing it and this won't work for mobile players. Here’s how:
- On your desktop, go to the Epic Games website and log in.
- Click on your username in the top right corner > Account.
- In the General tab, find your current display name and click the Edit button (blue pencil icon) beside it
- Type your new Fortnite name into the area within the new window. Then, click Confirm.
How to change your Fortnite name on console
For other console players, it's important to note that your Fortnite display names are linked to your console platform, not your Epic Games account. Any changes you’d like to make to your display name have to be made through your console.
We've covered how to change your PlayStation® Network name and your Xbox® gamertag. Follow our guides to update your console's username.
