Find battery percentage on an iPhone with Face ID
Sometimes, you need more than a visual representation of your phone's battery life. You can turn on the battery percentage option to get an exact idea of your current battery charge.
If you have an iPhone model with Face ID® (iPhone X and later), you can check your exact battery percentage in your phone’s Control Center.
- Swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen to open the Control Center.
- Look for the battery icon and the number next to it showing the percentage of battery charge.
If you’re using iOS® 16 or iOS 17, you can turn on the battery percentage so you’re able to see it inside of the battery icon, which is located in the upper-right corner of your status bar. To do so, go to the Settings app> Battery, and turn on Battery Percentage.

Find battery percentage on other iPhone models
If you have an iPhone SE, an iPhone 8, or an earlier model, you should already be able to see your battery life and exact percentage the status bar. If you don’t see the battery percentage on these models, go to the Settings app> Battery > and turn on Battery Percentage.
Add the Battery widget to your iPhone Home Screen
Another simple way to see your battery level: Add the Batteries widget to your Home Screen. It’s a tool that gives you quick access to important battery information. Here’s how to show your battery percentage with the Batteries widget:
- From the Home Screen, touch and hold an empty area on the screen until your apps jiggle.
- Tap the Add button (plus sign) in the upper-left corner.
- Select the Batteries widget, choose a size, then tap Add Widget.
- Tap Done.
Ask Siri
You can always check your current iPhone battery level by asking Siri®, your device’s virtual assistant. Just say, “What’s my battery percentage?” and Siri will give you the answer.
